Responsible operations are the future – we at Suomi Camping Oy are also involved in building more sustainable tourism!
Suomi Camping Oy is committed to the principles of sustainable tourism. Sustainable tourism is tourism that takes into account current and future economic, social and environmental impacts. Sustainable tourism takes equal account of the needs of tourists, tourism enterprises, tourist destinations, the environment and the local population. We put the principles of sustainable tourism into practice through Ekokompass and Visit Finland’s Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) development path.
Our environmental work has been awarded the EcoCompass certificate
We received the EcoCompass certificate in 2022, and the re-audit was carried out in November 2025. The certificate is valid for the next three years, from 2026 to 2028.
We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations and have created an environmental programme for our company. The programme helps us monitor the achievement of our goals and the implementation of the planned actions. You can find out more about the Ecocompass environmental scheme here.
Environmental goals for the years 2026-2028 are:
Our Joint Environmental Promise
Our aim is to reduce our environmental impact.
The future of our customers, our staff and nature is important to us. That’s why we are committed to sustainability and long-term work to reduce our environmental impact, for example by using energy more efficiently, reducing waste and raising environmental awareness among our staff and customers. Environmental work is part of our responsible business practices, including economic and social responsibility.
Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) – a sustainable tourism development path
Alongside Ekokompass, we are committed to Visit Finland’s Sustainable Travel Finland programme and its sustainable tourism principles, which has led to us being awarded the STF label in April 2023. The label will be renewed in 2026, at which time our newest site, Kokkola Camping Meripuisto, will also be included.
Here’s the translation:
Sustainable tourism includes social-cultural, economic, and ecological dimensions. Concrete development areas include, among others, reducing energy consumption and waste amounts, equal treatment of staff and customers and listening to local residents and customers, long-term and profitable planning of operations, and employing local people.

Once we receive the invoicing contract, we check the company details. As a general rule, if your company has no credit history, your company is welcome to be our billing customer. Invoicing is done on a weekly basis, with a surcharge of €15. Non-accommodation services (e.g. sauna or restaurant services) are paid at the destination, unless billing for these services is agreed separately. Subsequent invoicing is only possible for companies based in Finland. We do not invoice private customers.
